About The Position

Matheny Medical and Educational Center is seeking Full Time and Part Time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join their Situational Response Team. This role involves floating between Somerset County Group Homes and Day Programs. Team members will receive training in all 5 Somerset County group homes and the day program to gain a comprehensive understanding of the DDD programs. Responsibilities include transporting residents in company vehicles, administering medication, and reporting to the Director of Residential Services for skill development. Matheny is a special hospital dedicated to providing exceptional care and an optimal quality of life for children and adults with medically complex developmental disabilities. Founded in 1951, Matheny offers fully integrated, personalized care and education, including a non-profit private school, Adult Services Program with community residences and learning centers, and an Arts Access program that empowers individuals with disabilities to create art.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required
  • Valid driver's license with less than 5 points
  • One year of experience working with persons with developmental disabilities in a DDD Group Home or Day Program required
  • Flexibility in your schedule to float to all our Somerset County DDD programs
  • Reliable transportation to travel between group homes and day program

Responsibilities

  • Float between Somerset County Group Homes and Day Program
  • Be available to work 7am-7pm/7pm-7am and have flexibility in their schedule to meet the needs of the individuals we serve
  • Travel between group homes and day program
  • Transport residents in company vehicles, as needed
  • Administer medication when needed in all homes
  • Report to the Director of Residential Services to grow their skill set
