About The Position

BrightPath Human Services is dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental health diagnoses to live meaningful, independent, and fulfilling lives. Our team works in residential settings to provide compassionate, person-centered care and community integration support. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will play a vital role in supporting adults ages 18 and older in their daily lives. You will assist with personal care, skill development, community engagement, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment. Individuals served are dually diagnosed with Intellectual Disability, Autism and/or mental health. Having the ability to support people through every day situation and behaviors is necessary for this position. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in human services, caregiving, or a related field preferred (paid training provided for qualified candidates).
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
• Ability to pass background checks and any required clearances.
• Becoming DSP Certified (company paid) within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with activities of daily living, including meal preparation, hygiene, and household tasks
• Support individuals in developing independent living skills and participating in community activities.
• Monitor and document progress, behaviors, and incidents in accordance with program guidelines.
• Ability to de-escalate individuals in crisis
• Ability to stay calm in emergent situations
• Administer medications and follow prescribed healthcare plans.
• Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all individuals in care.
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and families/guardians.
• The ability to work overtime as assigned.
• At times overtime will be assigned based on programmatic needs.
