Direct Support Professional - 3-Day Workweek
About The Position
GoodLife Innovations is seeking Direct Support Professionals to provide care and companionship to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities! As a Direct Support Professional , you will support positive behaviors, teach communication skills, maintain health and hygiene, and encourage community engagement for the individuals we serve. Your days will be spent in family-style group homes, Day Service centers, and out in the community to assist with client goals and personal care needs. Shifts & Schedules Available: Front-Half (Sun-Wed) Midweek (Wed/Thu/Fri) Back-Half (Wed-Sat) Days: 7am-7pm or 8am-8pm
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Must pass criminal background check
- Must have a valid driver's license and safe driving record (day positions only)
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs to physically assist individuals
- Flexibility in assigned working location based on client needs
Nice To Haves
- Previous caregiving or direct support experience, ideally in a residential or therapeutic setting
- Experience working with clients with aggressive or disruptive behaviors
- Training in crisis intervention or de-escalation techniques
Responsibilities
- Assisting or fully supporting with personal care needs (bathing, toileting, grooming)
- Teaching and supporting daily living skills (cooking, cleaning, laundry)
- Transporting clients in company van
- Administering medications
- Supporting clients at their Day Service programs and in the community
- Charting/documenting data using computer system
