About The Position

Merakey is seeking Direct Support Professionals to join their team at a program in Havertown, PA. This opportunity is for individuals who are caregivers, direct care workers, or home health aides, with immediate hiring available. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to create long-term impacts on consumers' lives, encouraging, mentoring, and coaching them to achieve their goals. The role involves spending days in various settings, making memories with individuals, and working on social and communication skills, such as at parks and sensory gardens. Responsibilities also include enhancing independence by assisting with daily hygiene and personal care, and fostering pride by teaching daily living activities like housekeeping and laundry. No experience is required as paid training is provided.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Must have a desire to help others reach their fullest potential

Nice To Haves

• High School diploma/G.E.D. preferred
• Experience in a home health aide setting, or school setting working with people who have Intellectual and Developmental disabilities is preferred
• Dual Diagnosis experience is preferred

Responsibilities

• Encourage, mentor, and coach individuals to achieve their goals
• Spend days in a variety of settings making memories with individuals
• Work on social and communication skills, including at parks and sensory gardens, by following the Individual Support Plan
• Enhance independence by assisting with daily hygiene and personal care
• Teach individuals to navigate daily living activities, such as housekeeping and laundry
