About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities, assisting them in daily living activities and promoting their independence. Your work will be vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring they receive the care and attention they need in a safe and nurturing environment.
Requirements
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR is essential; certifications are a plus.
- Previous experience in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or hospice care is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with memory care and dementia care practices is beneficial.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- A background in caregiving, home health, or long-term care is advantageous.
- Understanding of patient monitoring techniques and vital sign assessment is preferred.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide patient care and monitor vital signs to ensure the well-being of individuals.
- Support clients in community integration and social activities, fostering independence and social skills.
- Implement care plans tailored to each individual's needs, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with medication administration as required, maintaining accurate records.
- Engage in patient observation to identify changes in behavior or health status.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment through regular cleaning tasks.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' mental well-being.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and family members to coordinate care.
