About The Position

Join Hope House Foundation as a Direct Support Professional in the Ghent neighborhood of Norfolk. This role offers a $500 sign-on bonus and paid certifications, along with opportunities for professional growth through free paid training and a Career Pathways Program. The position involves planning and enjoying activities like concerts, amusement parks, and community outings, while supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to improve their independence and achieve their goals. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday from 1 PM to 9 PM.

Requirements

• A positive attitude and a love for helping others
• Dependability and a willingness to learn new things
• Availability for at least one weekend day
• Lift up to 50lbs.
• Valid Driver's License
• Reliable transportation
• Satisfactory Criminal Background Check

Nice To Haves

• Ability to assist individuals with completing activities of daily living
• Experience through education or work history that demonstrates reliability/dependability
• Skill to complete satisfactorily: Medication Certification, Medicaid Waiver Certification, First Aid/CPR, Mandt, and other requirements associated with orientation
• Ability to work effectively in a team
• Ability to make decisions and exercise good judgment
• Skill in locating and accessing community resources
