About The Position

Merakey is seeking Direct Support Professionals to join their team in Aston, PA. The role is ideal for individuals who want to create long-term impacts on consumers' lives by encouraging, mentoring, and coaching them to achieve their goals. Direct Support Professionals will spend their days in various settings, including parks and sensory gardens, working on social and communication skills. The position involves enhancing independence by assisting with daily hygiene and personal care, and fostering pride by teaching daily living activities like housekeeping and laundry, all while following an Individual Support Plan. No prior experience is required as paid training is provided.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must possess a valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

• High School diploma/G.E.D. preferred
• Experience in a home health aide setting, or school setting working with people who have Intellectual and Developmental disabilities is preferred
• Must have a desire to help others reach their fullest potential
• Dual Diagnosis experience is preferred

Responsibilities

• Encourage, mentor, and coach consumers to achieve their goals
• Make memories with individuals in a variety of settings
• Work on social and communication skills, including at parks and sensory gardens
• Enhance independence by assisting with daily hygiene and personal care
• Teach individuals to navigate daily living activities, such as housekeeping and laundry
• Follow the Individual Support Plan
