Position Information: Boone County Family Resources is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Direct Support Professional in our residential program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Direct Support Professional is responsible for: Developing a rapport with residents and cultivating a safe and supportive relationship Assisting individuals with disabilities thriving in their homes by providing support with completing personal hygiene, grooming, cooking, laundry, cleaning, and shopping. Supporting individuals with connecting in the community by assisting with transportation to work, activities, and appointments and providing support as needed during activities at various community locations. Encouraging individuals to achieve their personal goals through the implementation of planned services and working collaboratively with other team members. Not sure if you qualify? Apply and let’s review! Schedule: 40 hours per week with shifts ranging from 8-10 hours on weeknights, weekends, and some holidays. Staff work with individuals with ID/DD in a residential apartment setting. Job Type: Full-Time and Part-Time evening and weekend positions are available with shifts ranging from 4-8 hours.

Requirements

Must have a high school diploma or GED
Ability to obtain a Class E chauffeur license
Access to a licensed and insured vehicle
Demonstrate responsibility and maturity with excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to pass applicable background checks and a pre-employment drug screening
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
May require prolonged periods of standing, bending, or walking
