About The Position

Merakey is seeking Direct Support Professionals PRN to join their team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This role involves supporting individuals with disabilities by teaching, coaching, modeling, and accompanying them in various family, neighborhood, civic, cultural, and religious activities and events. Direct Support Professionals will work with individuals with varying degrees of medical and mental health diagnoses and abilities in diverse settings. The position emphasizes upholding the dignity and respect of individuals served by promoting person-centered care, documenting, and assisting with activities of daily living in a safe and sanitary environment. No prior experience is required as paid training is provided.

Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to operate a vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

• 1+ year experience in a home health aide setting or school setting working with people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities

Responsibilities

• Supporting individuals through teaching, coaching, modeling, and accompanying individuals with disabilities so that they are involved in family, neighborhood, civic, cultural, and religious activities and events
• Working with individuals with varying degrees of medical and mental health diagnoses and abilities in a variety of settings

• Documenting and assisting activities of daily living in a safe and sanitary environment
