About The Position

Are you looking for a rewarding career helping others? We are in need of responsible and reliable people to assist others with intellectual/developmental disabilities in our Community Programs (Day Habilitation, Respite and Community Habilitation) with accessing the supports and resources in their community to help promote independence and increased social skills. Positions in all programs are available in Nassau County and Western Suffolk County.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Excellent communication and written skills
• Able to provide Direct Care assistance
• Valid NYS Drivers License
• Flexibility to work various hours throughout Nassau & Western Suffolk Counties

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience assisting persons with IDD/Autism preferred

Responsibilities

• Implement activities based on program's scheduled activities
• Provide direct support to participants in their daily activities such as self care and community integration
• Encourage social interactions and positive behavior
• Work with individuals to promote their health and safety in the community
• Drive agency vans (Day Habilitation only) and demonstrate safe driving practices
• Complete program documentation daily per state and agency guidelines
