IDD / Special Needs Caregiver
About The Position
BAYADA Home Health Care is currently seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to join the team in and around Union County PA. BAYADA’s special needs caregivers - Direct Support Professionals DSPs - work one-on-one in home and community settings as a companion and mentor for individuals with intellectual or developmental disability to help them reach their full potential. As an apprentice, you’ll get paid a competitive wage while you train and gain skills to help people with I/DD, such as autism, cerebral palsy, and Down syndrome. You’ll teach them to do things for themselves, helping them live more independent, purposeful lives.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 18 years of age or older
Nice To Haves
- One year experience working with intellectual and development disabilities Preferred, but NOT required!
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance (dressing, grooming, basic hygiene)
- Accompany clients on errands and appointments
- Spend time on the client’s favorite hobbies and activities
- Assist with everyday tasks, such as meal preparation
- Participate in community integration activities
