About The Position
Keystone Human Services is currently seeking Direct Support Professionals to join our Intellectual Disability Services team. As a Direct Support Professional, you will empower individuals with intellectual disabilities to live full, meaningful lives within their communities by providing person-centered support that values individuality, respect, and choice. Keystone Human Services works to create an environment where all people, regardless of ability, can grow, make choices and be valued and contributing members of the community. What we do: Keystone Human Services provides community-based services for children, adolescents, adults, and families in the areas of intellectual disabilities, autism, and mental health. In addition, we provide technical assistance to governments and other organizations to develop frameworks of support for people with disabilities. We also support educational efforts to promote community understanding and awareness of the value and importance of inclusion for all people in all aspects of society. We offer services and supports in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware, and New Jersey in the United States, as well as parts of Eastern Europe and India. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply written information
- Basic computer skills, including use of software and web-based systems
- Ability to successfully complete Medication Administration, First Aid, CPR, and other required trainings within mandated timeframes
Responsibilities
- Create a healthy, engaging home environment
- Provide individualized support in alignment with each person’s service plan
- Teach and assist with daily living skills and personal care
- Support individuals in achieving valued social roles and independence
- Assist with personal care, meal preparation, and medication administration
- Provide transportation to activities, employment, and appointments
- Advocate for the health, wellness, and independence of the people we support
- Build positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries
- Collaborate with team members and families to ensure meaningful outcomes
