About The Position

Merakey is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join their team at a program in Deptford, NJ. This opportunity is ideal for caregivers, direct care workers, or home health aides, with immediate hiring and paid training provided, so no prior experience is required. The ideal candidate will be passionate about making a long-term impact on individuals' lives, encouraging, mentoring, and coaching them to achieve their goals. The role involves fostering independence by teaching daily living activities such as housekeeping and laundry, and assisting with personal activities. Work is performed under the supervision of a House Manager, who reviews progress through observation, resident responsiveness, living area inspection, reports, and meetings.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Must have a verifiable High School diploma/G.E.D.
Must have a desire to help others reach their fullest potential

Nice To Haves

Prefer candidates have their own transportation
Experience in a home health aide setting, or school setting working with people who have Intellectual and Developmental disabilities is preferred

Responsibilities

Encouraging, mentoring, and coaching individuals to achieve their goals
Teaching individuals to navigate daily living activities, such as housekeeping and laundry
Assisting with daily and personal activities to enhance independence
