About The Position

Self-Direction DSP - Cortland/Homer Area (Job #FH-TM) ARISE is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work with a young man in the Cortland/Homer, NY area. We are looking for a dedicated individual who has experience de‑escalating emotional outbursts and is comfortable providing toileting and feeding support. The DSP will assist him in developing social, communication, and life skills both at home and in community settings. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Providing support in the home and during community outings Encouraging and assisting him with overall health, safety, and daily living activities Promoting skill building and positive engagement We are seeking individuals who are reliable, patient, enthusiastic, and able to work independently. Reliable transportation is required. A background check, fingerprinting, and DMV record check will be completed prior to hire through the non‑profit agency. Hours: Primarily Saturday (morning through evening) and Sunday until 1:00 PM Compensation: $32 per hour ARISE is an Equal Opportunity Employer

Requirements

• Must have a valid drivers license
• Effective communication and organizational skills required.
• Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
• Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
• Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
