About The Position
Self-Direction DSP - Onondaga County Area (Job #JP-CF) ARISE is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work in Onondaga County with a teenager diagnosed with a developmental disability. He is seeking staff for 6 hours on a weekend, twice a month. The pay rate is $25/hour. Opportunities for additional hours are available with the agency. This person lives in LaFayette, but parents are willing to transport to and/or from the activity, if that is what the DSP prefers. Staff will assist him with activities of interest such as YMCA, bowling, going to the mall, movies, and agency sponsored activities. He is a fun, happy, and engaging young man. He enjoys playing video games, and learning golf. He needs encouragement to stay on tasks and can be easily distracted. The individual is looking for a dedicated staff member to assist with maintaining his independence and safety both at home and in community settings. This is a great part time opportunity for anyone seeking additional income. This young man is flexible on the day/times. We are looking for individuals who are reliable and patient. Prior experience a plus but willing to train. All mileage accrued while with the individual is reimbursed. Reliable transportation and a High School diploma/GED are required. Requirements
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Effective communication and organizational skills required.
- Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
- Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy.
- Reliable transportation and a High School diploma/GED are required.
- Background check, fingerprinting and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by the non-profit agency.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
