About The Position

Community Access Services is currently hiring a Part-Time Direct Support Professional (DSPs) in Scappoose, OR to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role focuses on building meaningful, person-centered relationships, assisting with daily living activities, and supporting individuals in community participation and personal goal achievement. It also involves encouraging skill development, administering medications, maintaining a safe environment, and advocating for the individuals supported. No prior experience is required as paid training is provided.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license and ability to become an approved company driver
• Ability to pass a national background check
• Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and assist with mobility support
• Dependable and committed to providing person-centered support

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a DSP, caregiver, or in human services is helpful but not required

Responsibilities

• Build meaningful, person-centered relationships that support independence, dignity, and personal choice
• Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, personal care, and household routines
• Support individuals with community participation, recreation, appointments, and personal goals
• Encourage skill development, confidence, and social connections
• Follow individualized support plans (training provided)
• Administer medications safely and maintain accurate documentation
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment
• Advocate for the needs and preferences of the individuals you support
