About The Position
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide high-quality, hands-on care for adults with intellectual disabilities. This role requires a dedicated individual who is comfortable supporting two clients simultaneously in a live-in weekend setting, ensuring their safety, well-being, and daily needs are met.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities
- Must be comfortable providing hands-on care
- Ability to support and manage care for two clients at the same time
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Reliable, patient, and compassionate demeanor
- Ability to work 24-hour live-in shifts on weekends (Saturday & Sunday)
- Comfortable staying overnight in the client’s home
- Ability to lift, transfer, and assist clients as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide direct, hands-on care and support with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, toileting, and mobility
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed
- Transport clients safely to appointments and community activities (vehicle provided)
- Support social engagement and promote independence
- Monitor client behavior and respond appropriately to needs or changes
- Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive living environment
- Accurately document care and communicate with the care team
