Direct Support Professional
About The Position
ResCare Community Living, now part of Sevita, is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP). This role is crucial in providing compassionate care to clients, with DSPs being recognized as the heart of the company due to their compassion, dependability, and care. ResCare Community Living has five decades of experience in the disability services field, offering support to individuals with intellectual, developmental, or cognitive disabilities. They provide a comprehensive range of high-quality services including community living, adult host homes for adults regardless of disability, behavioral/mental health support, in-home pharmacy solutions, telecare and remote support, supported employment and training programs, and day programs.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Ability to work in a group home, home-like setting
- Ability to communicate (verbally and written) with all levels of personnel, internal and external
Responsibilities
- Performing personal care tasks, including feeding, ambulation, and medical monitoring
- Assist with fostering positive relationships between individuals served and their housemates
- Ensuring client safety and maintaining a safe environment
- Encouraging self-help activities
- Accompanying clients to scheduled appointments
