About The Position

Helpful Hearted Providers Inc. is seeking compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals to support an individual with developmental disabilities in a community-based residential setting.
This role includes providing personal care, mobility assistance, emotional support, and help with activities of daily living while promoting independence, dignity, and person-centered care. Staff must provide respectful support and maintain confidentiality at all times.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED Required
• Valid driver’s license preferred
• Ability to assist with mobility needs and personal care supports
• Reliable attendance and professionalism required
• Ability to work independently and follow ISP-based support plans

Nice To Haves

• Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus

Responsibilities

• Personal Care & Hygiene Support
• Provide assistance with toileting and hygiene while maintaining dignity and respect
• Assist with transfers using a lift and required safety procedures
• Support bathing routines, grooming, dressing, and personal appearance needs
• Provide verbal prompts and hands-on assistance as needed

• Meal Preparation & Household Support
• Assist with meal planning and preparation
• Support safe cooking skill development (microwave/stove training as appropriate)
• Help with cleaning, laundry, and household organization

• Mobility & Community Participation
• Support safe transportation to appointments, shopping, and community outings
• Assist with wheelchair-accessible mobility and adaptive transportation needs
• Encourage independence and social engagement

• Emotional Support & Crisis Awareness
• Provide calm, supportive assistance during periods of emotional distress or anxiety
• Use person-centered approaches to promote safety and stability
• Encourage coping skills and connection to approved support resources

• Documentation & Professional Standards
• Complete daily documentation in accordance with ISP and agency guidelines
• Follow all Medicaid waiver, EVV, and confidentiality requirements
• Maintain professionalism, reliability, and respectful communication
