Direct Support Professional (Swing Shifts Available)
About The Position
Embark Behavioral Health in Bend, Oregon is hiring compassionate, purpose-driven Direct Support Professionals to join our team. In this essential role, you’ll support preteens ages 10–17 in a safe, structured, and trauma-informed environment, helping them grow through experiential learning, animal-assisted activities, academic support, and emotional skill-building. Whether you're experienced in mental health, residential care, youth services, or simply passionate about making a difference, we welcome your unique perspective and dedication.
Requirements
- Minimum age: 21
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, maintain a clean driving record, and be able to drive for work-related purposes
- Current First Aid & CPR certifications
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Ability to physically perform job duties, including crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques, with training provided
Responsibilities
- Ensure client safety and emotional well-being through active supervision and documentation
- Maintain structure and boundaries to foster a supportive environment
- Respond to crises using de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed care
- Assist with academic tasks and daily routines
- Participate in recreational and therapeutic activities (arts, crafts, sports, nature walks)
- Support residential upkeep, animal care, and occasional meal service
