About The Position

The Direct Support Professional provides comprehensive care and assistance to customers in their daily lives. This includes helping with personal care activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and medication administration, as well as assisting with meal planning and household tasks. The role also involves supporting customers in making and attending appointments, providing transportation for errands, and serving as a companion. A key aspect is helping customers achieve personal goals to enhance their quality of life and community integration. The professional is responsible for documenting daily activities through an online platform and ensuring customer safety by observing their condition and monitoring their surroundings, including equipment and materials.

Responsibilities

  • Providing quality care, direction, guidance, and help to customers with daily activities, such as bathing and bathroom functions, feeding, planning menus, dressing, grooming, taking medication and/or administering treatments, and housework.
  • Help customers make and keep appointments, provide or arrange transportation to run errands and serve as a companion.
  • Help customer achieve agreed-upon goals to improve quality of life and integration into the community.
  • Provide written daily updates of each shift’s activities using an online platform.
  • Observe the customer’s condition and monitor the surroundings to ensure customer safety and success. This includes monitoring of equipment and materials.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
