About The Position

Merakey is seeking Direct Support Professionals to join their team at a program in Huntingdon Valley, PA. This role is ideal for individuals who are caregivers, direct care workers, or home health aides, or those aspiring to be. The Direct Support Professional will aim to create long-term impacts on consumers' lives, encouraging, mentoring, and coaching them to achieve their goals. The position involves spending days in various settings, including parks and sensory gardens, to work on social and communication skills, enhance independence by assisting with daily hygiene and personal care, and foster pride by teaching daily living activities like housekeeping and laundry. No prior experience is required as paid training is provided.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Must have a desire to help others reach their fullest potential

Nice To Haves

• High School diploma/G.E.D. preferred
• Experience in a home health aide setting, or school setting working with people who have Intellectual and Developmental disabilities is preferred
• Dual Diagnosis experience is preferred

Responsibilities

• Create long-term impacts on consumer’s lives
