Direct Support Professionals provide support to our clients based on their individual goals, which always include making sure their physical, mental, emotional, and social needs are met. The primary role of DSPs working with individuals with intellectual disabilities is to provide individualized support so clients can grow and expand their skills and confidence and live as independently as possible. DSPs do this in a variety of ways, such as supporting clients with activities of daily living, health and safety skills, communication skills, relationship skills, and social skills.
