What You’ll Do As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Crisis Services, you’ll mentor and coach individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and behavioral health needs. Teach daily living skills: personal care, cooking, grocery shopping, cleaning Support and encourage positive coping skills Use verbal de-escalation and redirection for safety when needed Follow behavior support plans created by Behavior Analysis professionals
Requirements
- 18+ years of age with a high school diploma or GED
- At least 3 months of direct care experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license, insured vehicle, and ability to obtain Class E license if operating an Arc vehicle
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work directly with clients in their homes
- Strong relationship-building skills and a willingness to learn
- Initial two weeks require weekday, daytime availability for paid training
- Full-time and part-time schedules available
