We are seeking a patient, reliable, and attentive Direct Support Professional to work one-on-one with an individual who uses a wheelchair. This isn’t about rushing through a checklist; it’s about providing high-quality, dignified care at a pace that respects the person you are serving. Key Responsibilities As a 1:1 Support Partner, you are the key to our client’s safety, comfort, and community life. Your primary focus will be supporting their physical needs while maintaining a positive, patient environment. What Your Support Looks Like: Personalized Mobility: You will assist the client with transfers (getting in and out of bed and using the restroom) using a sit-to-stand lift. If you haven't used one before, don't worry—we will ensure you are fully trained and comfortable with the equipment. Daily Living & Dignity: You’ll provide hands-on help with personal hygiene, dressing, and other daily routines, ensuring the client feels their best every day. Adventure & Accessibility: You will be the driver of a handicap-accessible van, helping the client get out of the house for errands, appointments, and social outings. True Companionship: Because this is 1:1, you’ll get to know the client’s preferences, routines, and personality, making the work deeply personal and rewarding. Qualifications We aren't looking for a specific set of letters behind your name—we are looking for the right heart and head. You are Patient: You understand that some tasks take time and you never make the person you’re helping feel like a "burden." You are Observant: You pay attention to the small things that keep someone safe and comfortable. You are a Confident Driver: You are comfortable operating a larger transit-style van and prioritize road safety. You are Dependable: Because this is 1:1 care, the client truly relies on you.
