About The Position
Arise/Exceptional Family Resources is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work in the Bridgeport/ Kirkville area with a young man in his early 30’s. The individual is looking for a dedicated staff to assist him with maintaining his independence both at home and in community settings. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to assisting with light housekeeping, meal preparation and general independence. This individual is very friendly but can be shy when you first meet him and asks that staff encourage him to come out of his shell and explore new activities in the community. He has a great sense of humor, enjoys trips to the Zoo and volunteers in the community. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, patient, and enthusiastic. Prior experience a plus but willing to train. Reliable transportation and a HS diploma/GED are required. Background check, fingerprinting and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by the non-profit agency. Hiring for many shifts with flexibility: Wednesday 9am- 5 pm There is an ability for more hours once hired on. The pay rate is $22.00 per hour. Arise /EFR is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Requirements
- Reliable transportation
- HS diploma/GED

- Must have a valid drivers license
- Effective communication and organizational skills required.
- Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
- Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience a plus but willing to train.
- Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
