About The Position

@Southwest Louisiana Independence Center (@SLIC) is currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSW) to provide overnight care (Sun- Thurs) 11pm to 8:30am & on Saturday the shift will be (8am to 8pm) for 2 young males in the Lafayette area. You will be assisting with 1 consumer while on shift. The consumers are wheelchair bound and needs full assistance. The candidate will be trained on how to operate their ceiling tracking system (Lift). This position is an in-home service. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working in an environment with pets, as the consumers has animals. The Direct Support Professional is responsible for the physical care of our clients who may no longer be able to take care of themselves due to age, illness, injury, surgery, or disability. The ideal candidate must be able to care for our clients and their property with dignity, patience, compassion, and respect.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid Driver’s License or ID
• Working Cell Phone with Data Plan
• Must be able to complete a Criminal Background report and clean driving record
• Commitment to excellent client care
• Must have Patience, Compassion, Positive Attitude, and be a Team Player

Responsibilities

• Light Housekeeping
• Assist with grooming
• Assist with nightly rotation with consumers.
