About The Position

At Dungarvin, we are a mission-driven team dedicated to providing person-centered support services, rooted in respect, response, and choice. Since 1976, we have focused on empowering individuals to live as independently as possible. This role involves working directly with people who need assistance, including those living with intellectual or developmental disabilities, or other complex medical needs. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) caregiver, you will provide direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to these individuals. The ultimate goal is to help them live independently and comfortably while maintaining their dignity and respect.

  • Computer skills for documentation
  • 18 or older
  • A successful background clearance is required as part of the onboarding/employment process
  • Good communication skills, including reading, writing, and verbal communication, to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with team members

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with mental, intellectual & developmental, and physical disabilities
  • Empower individuals with disabilities to live as independently and comfortably as possible while maintaining their dignity and respect
  • Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance
  • Ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals we serve
  • Assist with daily living tasks such as moving around, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene
  • Perform housekeeping and laundry duties
