About The Position

Arise is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work in the Fayetteville area with a 13 year old boy, afterschool during the week. He is diagnosed with an intellectual disability. He enjoys exploring the YMCA, malls, parks, libraries, trampoline parks, zoos, and other recreational settings. He’d like to make friends. He’d like to develop a routine of activities to look forward to. He’d like assistance communicating with others and making follow up plans. This individual is brave, friendly, and playful. He communicates verbally. He walks independently. The pay rate for this position is $30/hour. Days and times for this position are flexible. Seeking a staff for up to 6 hours a week. An example of a weekly shift could be: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays 4-6pm. Training is provided through this agency. The DSP will drive this person to his preferred activities and participate alongside him. The DSP will work with him in his home and his community. The individual is looking for a dedicated and patient staff to assist him with learning skills for independence at home and in community settings. Examples of this may include: counting money, researching activities, practicing reading and writing skills, practicing time management, practicing appropriate behaviors for public settings. We are looking for individuals who are reliable. Prior experience is not a requirement. Reliable transportation and a HS diploma/GED are required. Background check, fingerprinting and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by the non-profit agency. Mileage accrued while with the individual is reimbursed. Requirements

  • Must have a valid drivers license
  • Effective communication and organizational skills required.
  • Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
  • Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
  • Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy.
