Empowered Services is seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team. In this role, you will build meaningful relationships that inspire confidence, promote independence, and support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living fulfilling, joyful lives. As a DSP, you will work one-on-one with each customer to understand their unique needs, support them in achieving their goals, and provide care in a positive, encouraging, and safe environment. Our DSPs serve not only as caregivers but also as mentors, advocates, and trusted companions for the individuals we support. 282: We are looking for a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support a fun, energetic young boy with a big smile and a kind heart. He is non-verbal and has autism, and thrives with structure, patience, and positive reinforcement. He loves drawing shapes with markers, practicing multiplication, bouncing on the trampoline, and watching phonics videos as he learns to spell. He has an adventurous spirit and enjoys exploring the world around him. This role also involves homeschooling support, helping him engage in learning activities tailored to his needs and interests. The ideal DSP will bring high energy, creativity, and encouragement, guiding him through daily routines such as dressing, learning, and using his communication buttons to express his needs. He responds well to verbal cues and gentle redirection, so consistency and clear communication are essential. He requires close supervision, as he may attempt to run when unsupervised, and also needs support around taking medication and managing food preferences. Schedule: Two days a week 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. Provider must be willing to do respite care 1 - 2 days a month and travel with the family on occasion. If you are a caring, active, and patient professional who can keep up with an adventurous child, we would love to hear from you!
