About The Position

The Direct Support Professional provides quality care, direction, guidance, and help to customers with their daily activities, including personal care, meal planning, dressing, grooming, medication administration, and housework. This role also involves assisting customers with appointments, providing or arranging transportation, and serving as a companion. A key aspect is helping customers achieve their agreed-upon goals to improve their quality of life and integration into the community. The professional is responsible for providing daily written updates on an online platform and ensuring customer safety by observing their condition and monitoring surroundings, including equipment and materials.

Responsibilities

• Providing quality care, direction, guidance, and help to customers with daily activities, such as bathing and bathroom functions, feeding, planning menus, dressing, grooming, taking medication and/or administering treatments, and housework
• Help customers make and keep appointments, provide or arrange transportation to run errands and serve as a companion
• Help customer achieve agreed-upon goals to improve quality of life and integration into the community
• Provide written daily updates of each shift’s activities using an online platform
• Observe the customer’s condition and monitor the surroundings to ensure customer safety and success. This includes monitoring of equipment and materials
• Perform other duties as assigned
