About The Position
Self-Direction DSP - Syracuse Area (Job #ES-LA) ARISE is looking for a Direct Support Professional to provide Respite in the West Hill area. She is a very happy, easy-going, very active and kind-hearted teen with a moderate intellectual disability. The family is looking for Respite staff for up to 10 hours a week total on Saturday and Sundays. Service will take place in both the home and in the community. She enjoys outings to Onondaga park, going to restaurants. Visiting the YMCA, swimming and playing with Slime. She also enjoys watching videos on her iPad. The family is interested in trying new experiences with her and asks for a strong staff that will be willing to discover and try new places to explore with her. Experience is preferred, as well as being responsible and very hands on DSP. Must be able to always keep up with her and provide some bathroom assistance. Location: Syracuse, near West Hill High school Pay rate: $22 per hour, with mileage and staff activity reimbursements
Requirements
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Effective communication and organizational skills required.
- Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
- Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
- Experience is preferred, as well as being responsible and very hands on DSP.
