About The Position

ReMed, a Collage Rehabilitation Partner, is a dynamic company committed to providing exceptional neurological rehabilitation to adults with brain injury. For over 35 years, ReMed has developed programs to meet the diverse needs of clients with moderate to severe traumatic and acquired brain injuries, including treatment for post-concussion syndrome, stroke, memory loss, neurobehavioral issues, and accident or sports-related head injuries. The Direct Support Professional position is located in a residential program in Shadyside and involves providing assistance and supervision to clients to promote their success in daily living tasks, recreational activities, and vocational pursuits. Candidates must be comfortable working with a variety of medically complicated and behaviorally challenged clients.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED is required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have a valid driver's license and responsible driving behaviors must be maintained
• Ability to lift 50lbs
• Diplomas from non-U.S. educational institutions must include professional documentation/evaluation that the non-U.S. educational program is equivalent to or exceeds U.S. educational requirements; documentation is required prior to becoming an employee

Responsibilities

• Provide minimum to maximum assistance and/or supervision to promote clients’ success in daily living tasks, recreational activities and vocational pursuits
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Assist clients with therapies
• Drive and accompany clients to appointments, activities and other outings
