About The Position
ARISE/EFR is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work with a friendly young man in the Liverpool area who has a sunny disposition and enjoys listening to music, listening to books read aloud, and going for long strolls in his neighborhood. In this role, you will help him to improve his communication skills, learn independent living skills, and assist with his personal care. You will spend time reading, playing games, walking, and listening to music with him. He is seeking an upbeat and reliable individual. The position is currently seeking back-up staff for weekday hours when primary staff are unavailable. It could include occasional weekend shifts, if desired, and also has the potential to turn into a consistent, part-time position.
Requirements
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Effective communication and organizational skills required
- Flexibility with assignments and schedule required
- Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred
