Direct Support Professional - OMH -Full Time - Various
About The Position
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you get to enhance quality of life for adults with mental health needs by assisting, instructing, and supporting individuals living in our residences to be as independent as possible. Promote the health, safety and well-being of the individuals while building positive, meaningful relationships. Advocate for individuals in our residences to communicate their wants/needs and integrate them into the community for recreation. Perform various tasks to promote a well-rounded environment by doing light housekeeping, helping individuals plan nutritious meals, and administering medications as needed. Participate in regularly scheduled trainings to enhance skills and knowledge to continue to support the individuals in the best way possible.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to perform all job functions
- Work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Be a positive role model for people with disabilities and other staff
Nice To Haves
- Valid New York State driver’s license that meets the Agency’s driving policy
