About The Position

ARISE is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work in the North Syracuse area with a young adult male who has an intellectual disability and Autism. He is looking for a dedicated person to provide him with support both in the home and in community. Responsibilities include but are not limited to… encouraging him and participating in community activities together, exploring his interests and hobbies, and working on independent living skills. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, very enthusiastic and have a bubbly personality. Someone that can assist with finding new activities and have the ability to get him motivated to try new things. Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus. Schedule: up to 10 hours a week Monday and/or Friday: Prefer days but looking for someone with some flexibility. As he has shown interest in attending Friday evening dances once a month. The family is requesting that the DSP start with one shift a week and then increase to multiple shifts as the service continues and is successful. Pay rate: $20 per hour Plus, mileage and staff activity fee reimbursements.

Requirements

Must have a valid drivers license
Effective communication and organizational skills required.
Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy.
