Job description: Direct Support Professional PRN or Part-Time. Corry Counseling of LECOM Health is seeking both a PRN Direct Support Professional (DSP) or a Part-Time DSP who can provide flexible support across all shifts for a residential home in Erie, PA. This home provides 24-hour care and support for a single individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities and high-structured needs. In this role, you will play a vital role in supporting this individual by promoting independence, minimizing challenging behaviors, and fostering community involvement. Your responsibilities will include assisting with daily living activities, implementing support plans, and helping the individual achieve personal goals that reflect their dreams and aspirations. You should be prepared to work in an environment that may include unpredictable behaviors, verbal and physical aggression, and self-injurious actions. This role involves mental and physical demands such as stress management, muscle strain, and exposure to loud environments. Work settings may vary, including both the home and community settings. Schedule: This PRN and Part-time position requires flexibility to support staffing needs across all shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd). For the PRN role, candidates must be available to accept shifts that may arise on short notice. PRN staff are expected to accept at least 75% of offered shifts, i.e. If offered 1 shift → must accept it If offered 4 shifts → must accept at least 3 Training will be paid at $20/ hour Full Compensation: PRN$30/hour. Part-Time DSP: $20/hour Part-time role is not subject to the stated flexibility requirements listed above.

Requirements

A high school diploma or GED
Must have a valid driver’s license, current insurance coverage and pass a motor vehicle background check.
Pass the PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse, and FBI Criminal Background check.
Mandated Reporter and Safety Care Training within 30 days of hire.
Able to lift/or carry up to 50 pounds
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

Experience working as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) or providing services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
Experience with medication administration and/or certification

Responsibilities

Supports individual in all aspects of daily living, providing only the necessary assistance to promote maximum independence and self-sufficiency
Carries out directives of supervisor with regards to home management, Adult Daily Living Skills, Self-Help Skills and Community involvement.
Collaborates with colleagues, supervisors, and healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans while building valuable skills in a supportive environment.
Carries out Individualized Support Plans (ISP) to ensure personalized care and goal achievement.
Follows all agency policies, procedures and protocols regarding safety in all environments that is healthy, safe, peaceful and comfortable always.
Accurately completes daily documentation in compliance with all regulations and guidelines.
Adheres to PA State Regulations as established in 6400 regs.
Attends team meetings as required.
Completes all training in a timely manner.
