Job Summary The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is an active member of a team providing supported living services to individuals with developmental disabilities. The Direct Support Professional works under the direction of the Community Living Coordinator. Essential Functions Provide the member with professional direct support, supervision and skill training, as identified in the member’s Plan of Care (POC). Areas may include, but are not limited to: Personal hygiene Meal Planning and Preparation Clothing Care Social Skills Transportation Communication Medication Administration Personal Safety Money Management Home Maintenance/Housekeeping Recreation Community Inclusion Communicate effectively with the member’s family. Provide informal counseling and promote self-advocacy. Assist with medical appointments. Administer prescribed medications and/or first aid. Participate in scheduled support team meetings. Participate in the member’s interdisciplinary team meeting. Complete the annual POC assessment with each member. Assist the Community Living Coordinator in meeting member needs and supported community living regulations. Attend mandatory training. Complete daily documentation.
