About The Position

Keystone Human Services is seeking Direct Support Professionals to join their Intellectual Disability Services team. This role involves empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to live full, meaningful lives within their communities by providing person-centered support that values individuality, respect, and choice. Keystone Human Services aims to create an environment where all people, regardless of ability, can grow, make choices, and be valued and contributing members of the community. The organization provides community-based services for children, adolescents, adults, and families in the areas of intellectual disabilities, autism, and mental health, along with technical assistance to governments and other organizations to develop support frameworks for people with disabilities. They also support educational efforts to promote community understanding and awareness of inclusion. Services are offered in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware, and New Jersey in the United States, as well as parts of Eastern Europe and India.

Requirements

  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply written information
  • Basic computer skills, including use of software and web-based systems
  • Ability to successfully complete Medication Administration, First Aid, CPR, and other required trainings within mandated timeframes

Responsibilities

  • Create a healthy, engaging home environment

  • Teach and assist with daily living skills and personal care
  • Support individuals in achieving valued social roles and independence
  • Assist with personal care, meal preparation, and medication administration
  • Provide transportation to activities, employment, and appointments
  • Advocate for the health, wellness, and independence of the people we support
  • Build positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries
  • Collaborate with team members and families to ensure meaningful outcomes
