About The Position

Benhaven is currently seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals in our Residential Services program. The Direct Support Professional will work with adults with developmental disabilities and autism in a residential setting to assist with daily living activities and provide support to help them live fulfilling lives. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Ability to pass a criminal & driver's background check
  • Valid CT driver's license, current registration, and auto insurance
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and autism preferred
  • CPR & PMT certified preferred, but will provide training
  • DDS Med Certified preferred, but will provide training

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting
  • Assist individuals with activities of daily living, such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household chores
  • Implement individualized support plans and goals under the direction of the Residential Services Coordinator
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals at all times
  • Encourage individuals to participate in social, recreational, and community activities
  • Document daily progress and any incidents or concerns in individual files
  • Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and staff members
  • Attend trainings and meetings as required
