About The Position

Mozaic (A Chapter of The Arc NY) is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) who will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities to live safe, healthy, and fulfilling lives while working toward greater independence and community involvement. In this role, you will assist with daily living activities, provide transportation, and accompany individuals to appointments, community outings, volunteer opportunities, and work‑based learning experiences. You will support individuals in developing pre‑vocational skills such as workplace etiquette, task completion, time management, and social interaction, while encouraging participation in volunteering and community service activities that build confidence and job readiness. You will follow individualized care and service plans and adhere to established policies and guidelines to ensure high‑quality support. Through collaboration with families, employers, job coaches, healthcare professionals, and case managers, you will help provide well-rounded, person-centered support. Most importantly, you will offer encouragement, advocacy, and emotional support-empowering individuals to pursue meaningful activities, employment goals, and inclusive community involvement.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimally one-year experience working with people with developmental disabilities or an associate degree in human services or related field is required.
  • Valid Driver's License is required.
