About The Position
Self-Direction DSP - Westvale/Syracuse Area (Job #AMC-VC) ARISE/Exceptional Family Resources is seeking a Direct Support Professional to work in the Westvale/Syracuse area with a lovely woman in her seventies. Due to her developmental disabilities and physical limitations, she and her family are looking for dedicated staff to provide companionship and support to remain living in her own apartment. She is bright, witty, and kind and enjoys art, music and reading. Due to her physical limitations, she needs assistance with transferring in and out of her wheelchair. She also requires some assistance with personal hygiene, preparing meals and light housekeeping. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting her with working on goals at home and in the community. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, patient, and enthusiastic. Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities or a medical background a plus. Reliable transportation and a HS diploma/GED are required. Background check, fingerprinting and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by the non-profit agency. Work hours available include evenings, Sundays and/or overnight shifts. Staff are permitted to sleep during the overnight shift, but are responsible for assisting throughout the night, as needed. Additional flexible hours are available, as agreed upon with the individual and her family. The pay rate is $21.00 per hour. ARISE/EFR is an Equal Opportunity Employer
Requirements
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Effective communication and organizational skills required.
- Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
- Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy.
