About The Position
Exceptional Family Resources is seeking a Direct Support Professional to work in the Syracuse area with a man who requires assistance. The individual is looking for a dedicated staff to provide him with support and assist him with maintaining his independence both at home and in community settings. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to assisting with general independence, light housekeeping, and meal preparation. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, patient, and enthusiastic. Prior experience a plus. Reliable transportation and a HS diploma/GED are required. Background check, fingerprinting and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by the non-profit agency. Work hours include Wednesday, Thursday and every other Saturday approximately 6pm - 10pm. Flexibility to fill-in for other staff a plus. The pay rate is $24/hr for a probationary period of 3 months, with potential for a pay rate increase for the right candidate
Requirements
- Reliable transportation
- HS diploma/GED
- Background check, fingerprinting and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by the non-profit agency
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Effective communication and organizational skills required.
- Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
- Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience a plus.
- Flexibility to fill-in for other staff a plus
- Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
