About The Position

Allegheny Community Home Care is seeking a Direct Support Professional for intellectually disabled adults in a community home setting in the Monroeville and Greentree areas. The role involves providing companion support and ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of the individuals supported. Requirements

• Valid drivers license
• No infractions on your driving record
• High school or equivalent education
• 1 year of Direct support experience
• Driver's License

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of I-DD experience

Responsibilities

• Supports the achievement of individual's personal outcomes.
• Accompanies individuals on recreational trips and medical appointments as house staff.
• Engages individuals living within the house with leisure activities such as arts, crafts, and games.
• Provides general assistance to the individuals in the home with implementing their activities of daily living.
• Completes documentation as it relates to their job responsibilities.
• Communicates and resolves individual concerns with the Allegheny Community Home Care Lead Supervisor.
• Complies with instructions given by the supervisor in the event of a crisis situation.
• Serves as a model to the appropriate language, dress, and behavior.
• Receives 24 hours training annually, relevant to Human Services.
• Receive medication administration training and be allowed to transport individuals in the vehicle or agency vehicle under defined conditions.
• Assumes other responsibilities as required.
