About The Position

Direct Support Counselor is desired to work in the Covington home of an individual who requires 24-hour supported living services. Candidates will work with a 5-member, female mandated, team. Full or part-time hours are available. Our client thrives on her daily routine yet also enjoys impromptu outings and being participant of her community. She is non-verbal, with significant physical disabilities, and limited cognitive abilities. Paid training is included. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; relevant post-secondary education in social services, psychology, or a related field preferred.
Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is essential.
Strong leadership abilities, with a proven track record of fostering a positive team environment.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities effectively.
Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of DDA guidelines and regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

Providing mobility support
Promoting positive: mental, physical, and nutritional health
Observing, monitoring, and recording clients' conditions by taking temperatures, pulse, and weight
Healthy communication with clients, relatives, and other caregiving assistants
Personal care, including infection prevention and control, food, personal hygiene and overall reassurance, comfort and safety
Performing household chores and ordering supplies
