About The Position

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Ord, NE plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities by providing compassionate, person-centered care and support. This position focuses on assisting people with daily living activities, promoting independence, and encouraging community integration. The DSP will work closely with the individuals to develop and implement individualized support plans that align with their goals and preferences. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with valid auto insurance.
  • Ability to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions and care plans.
  • Experience is preferred although no experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, including assistance with personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication administration, and mobility.
  • Implement individualized support plans by facilitating skill development, social activities, and community involvement tailored to each individual's needs and interests.
  • Monitor and document individual's progress, behaviors, and any changes in health or well-being, communicating effectively with supervisors and healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive living environment by adhering to health and safety protocols and reporting any concerns promptly.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, family members, and other stakeholders to coordinate care and advocate for the rights and preferences of the individuals served.
