About The Position

The Direct Support Professional provides quality care, direction, guidance, and assistance to customers with daily activities such as bathing, bathroom functions, feeding, menu planning, dressing, grooming, medication administration, and housework. The role also involves helping customers with appointments, providing or arranging transportation for errands, and serving as a companion. A key aspect is assisting customers in achieving agreed-upon goals to improve their quality of life and integration into the community. The professional is required to provide daily written updates of shift activities using an online platform and to observe the customer's condition and surroundings to ensure safety and success, including monitoring equipment and materials. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Providing quality care, direction, guidance, and help to customers with daily activities, such as bathing and bathroom functions, feeding, planning menus, dressing, grooming, taking medication and/or administering treatments, and housework
  • Help customers make and keep appointments, provide or arrange transportation to run errands and serve as a companion
  • Help customer achieve agreed-upon goals to improve quality of life and integration into the community
  • Provide written daily updates of each shift’s activities using an online platform
  • Observe the customer’s condition and monitor the surroundings to ensure customer safety and success. This includes monitoring of equipment and materials
  • Perform other duties as assigned
