About The Position

Now we’re looking for compassionate, reliable people to join our team! What You’ll Do As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you’ll provide hands-on support in our Community Based Work Program working 1st shift primarily with some 2nd shift . You’ll help individuals find meaningful opportunities to work, play and find ways to give back within the community. In this role, you will also assist one two shifts per week in the residential setting, assisting with daily routines, personal care, social activities, and more, helping them live with dignity, independence, and joy. A Typical Day Might Include: Heading out to the Bowling Alley for a competitive session with friends. Assist in participating in Meals and Wheels, giving back to the community. Helping beautify a spot designated by the community. Assisting in an activity of interest for the person you support Assisting with personal care (bathing, dressing, meals, as needed) Encouraging independence and community involvement Supporting health needs and appointments Helping with household tasks Building strong, trusting relationships Keeping clear, accurate documentation Create a safe, positive, encouraging atmosphere

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (experience in similar settings a plus!)
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and personal vehicle
  • 1-2 years' experience with the IDD population
  • Strong communication, patience, and a team-player attitude
  • Comfort with physical activity (lift up to 40 lbs., bending, walking, etc.)
  • Willingness to learn CPR, Safety-Care and behavior support techniques
