About The Position
Our Residential Home in Peabody is seeking a Direct Support Professional to join its team! Job Title: Direct Support Professional Northeast Arc changes lives for people with disabilities, and we want you to join us! We are currently hiring Direct Support Professionals to work within our group homes located throughout the north shore. Direct support professionals help the individuals we serve live inclusive and independent lives in their homes and community. Job Summary: To provide quality living supports and be responsive to individuals living in residential programs or independently. Teach, support, and facilitate choices for people in their homes and within their communities. Sunday 9am -11pm, Monday 3 pm- 11 pm, Tuesday 3 pm, 11 pm, Wednesday 2pm-3pm, Saturday 6 pm -11 pm Sleep Hours: Sunday 12am-7am, Saturday 11pm-12am
Requirements
- Valid drivers license required
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, stand for periods of time, bend, push wheelchairs, provide physical intervention as necessary.
- CPR/FA and MAP is required
Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Care and support the clinical and social needs of the individuals receiving services.
- Document accurately and thoroughly including in Inter-Team Communication Logs, Health Records, Daily Data Books and Fire Drill Logs as outlined in Northeast Arc Policy and Procedures
- Facilitate meaningful community experiences for each individual that fosters skill acquisition, relationship building and independence.
- Provide hands-on support at the home, including individualized supports in transferring, bathing and grooming, and following specific dining protocols and treatments.
- Administer medications according to Northeast Arc Policies and Procedures and MAPs Regulations.
- Support Drs appointments, ER and hospital visits and contact on-call nursing appropriately.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following Universal Precautions, ensuring that emergency exits are clear and accessible at all times and maintaining staffing ratios as outlined in contracts with funding agencies and House Safety Plans.
