About The Position

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health - Massachusetts serves students with various complex psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders, including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorder. Devereux's Devon House program serves co-ed individuals aged 14 to 21 with ASD and IDD, most of whom are non-verbal. With a 1:2 staff to students ratio, this program offers a high level of individualized care. The program goal is to teach, coach, and support individuals to learn daily living skills, coping skills, and social skills while staying active and having fun. This role is for a human services agency where there is significant growth potential, and it involves working with children in need to make a difference in their lives.

Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older.
Valid driver's license required.
High School diploma or GED required.
Must be able to attend a 2-week paid orientation, Monday to Friday, 8AM to 4PM, in Rutland, MA.
Must be MAPS certified, or able to obtain certification within 90 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
Previous experience working with individuals under 21 with psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders, and/or autism spectrum disorders preferred.

Responsibilities

Be passionate about working with and helping youth.
Be responsible for the safety and security of all youth as assigned by providing direct supervision.
Provide and ensure therapeutic interventions in a compassionate and safe environment.
Engage with youth in a meaningful and positive manner, teaching and prompting appropriate behaviors, and providing positive reinforcement for the same.
Teach and assist with Activities of Daily (ADL) Living Skills.
Possess adequate organizational and communication skills needed to complete required documentation, such as progress notes and incident reports.
